Post Graduate department of Botany, Bishop Abraham Memorial College organized a webinar on Scope and Significance of Ethnobotanical Research on 19.01.2020. Dr. Mathew Dan (Senior Scientist & Head, PGR Division JNTBRI) gave an introduction on the history of certain plants and their associated uses based on the traditional knowledge of local communities and focused on studying the interactions of different communities, with the surrounding environment especially the plants and their culture. He also spoke on relevant facts from ethnobotany to ethical issues related to intellectual property right. Altogether 64 participants from different institutions attended the webinar.
