National Cadet Corps (NCC)

NCC is India’s largest youth organization, which imparts continuous training to attain its motto of national unity and self discipline. It also helps to develop qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service among the youth to make them useful citizens. The NCC functions in two wings- Men’s and Women’s. Parades are held from 09.00 a.m. to 01.25 p.m. every Saturday.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme has been functioning in the college since 1975. It is a voluntary organization designed to create community consciousness among the students and to channelize their energy and enthusiasm into constructive fields. At present two NSS units are functioning in the college.

Human Resource Development Cell

Human Resource Development (HRD) cell of the college functions with the objective of providing guidance and assistance for the students to achieve their career goals. It helps the students in their personal, social, emotional, educational and career development. The Human Resource Development Cell of the college plans and organises activities for improving skills and employability of the students. This cell co-ordinates the activities of Career Guidance and placement Cell and various forums functioning in the college.

Women Studies and Development Cell

All women students are members of this cell. The main objectives of the cell are:

  • To throw light on the economic, social and political status of women.
  • To make them aware of the values of womanhood and impart moral education to them.
  • To make them self reliant and self confident.

Arts Club

All the students of the college are members of the Arts Club. The objective of the club is to develop and encourage artistic talents of the students. An annual House-wise competition in cultural programmes is conducted under the leadership of the College Arts Club. The House that performs best in the Arts festival will be awarded with a Rolling Trophy Instituted by Prof. Abraham George, former Principal.

College Magazine

The College Union publishes a Magazine at the end of every academic year. It provides an opportunity for the students and staff to publish their literary and artistic creation and write ups.

Students Counselling Cell

The counselling cell aims to build up a mature understanding of life among students. It organises programmes to improve one’s ability to interact with others. It helps them to find realistic and workable solutions to their problems. The cell also provides counselling facility.

Cultural Forum

The forum aims to identify and promote the cultural and artistic talents of the students. They gather in the seminar hall every Thursday during the noon break to present and evaluate their talents. The forum also conducts annual cultural festival called Sarga Sangamam.

ADIC-BAM

The ADIC-BAM was started in the college as a joint venture of Pathanamthitta District Collectorate and ADIC- INDIA. The College was declared as a ‘Drug Free Campus’ in 1994-95. The main objective of the club is to create awareness among the students about the evils of drug addiction and alcoholism. Seminars, cultural programmes and counselling are the main activities of the Club.

Tourism Club

Tourism Club was started in the college as a unit of District Tourism Promotion Council of Pathanamthitta. The main aim of the club is to promote internal tourism. The club promotes study of different types of tourism, through seminars, adventurous activities like trekking, cycle expeditions, sailing and by arranging study tours and picnics.

Energy Conservation Club

The Club organises various programmes to create awareness among the students and equip them for efficient management of all forms of energy, to promote energy efficiency and energy conservation. Also the club is keen to spread this message in the society by conducting awareness programmes to public.

Nature Club

The clubs organizes nature camps to places with ecological significance, and also conducts various competitions like quiz, poster writing and essay writing every year. Along with the activities in college, club members actively participate in various extension activities like organic farming, tree planting etc for the nearby public.

Bhoomithra Sena

The main objective of the club is to encourage our students to appreciate environment and involve them in addressing environmental issues of the locality, conduit the enormous manpower available for the awareness of the society and make students practice and advocate sustainable lifestyles.

Red Ribbon Club

The Red Ribbon Club is a voluntary on-campus intervention programme, initiated and supported by the State AIDS Control Society for students in educational institutions. About 50 student volunteers (Male and Female) actively participate in the unit. In collaboration with the NSS Units of the College, the RRC jointly organizes HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaigns and Blood Donation Motivation Campaigns in the College.

PG Forum

PG Forum is an active platform of the college consisting of students and teachers of PG departments. The primary objective of the forum is to critically analyse the soci-economic and scientific changes and issues both national and international. Lectures, symposia, workshops, etc. are organized by the forum.

Sahithya Vedi

Sahithya Vedi aims to inculcate literary interest among students by enhancing their linguistic and writing skills. It organises various activities like book reviews, literary discussion and critical appreciations to help students to expand the horizon of their spoken and written language.

Debate & Quiz Club

The club aims to:

  1. develop the speaking skills of the students and train them in critical and analytical skills required for debating in various competitions.
  2. inculcate in students the values of Knowledge, Wisdom and Compassion and make them smart citizens.
  3. encourage students to take part in competitive examinations at state and central level.

The club seeks to represent Loyola College in various competitions.

Entrepreneurship Development Club

The ED club started functioning in the college from 2017 with the support of District Industries Centre, Mallappally Block. The objectives of the ED club are

  • to inculcate social virtues (i.e. trustworthiness, integrity, hard work, discipline, honesty, etc.) as constituents of entrepreneurship
  • to inculcate entrepreneurship qualities
  • to become aware about industrial scenario of the state
  • to develop awareness among its members of skills and compitencies of sucessful Entrepreneurs around the globe

The ED club of the college organizes Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes and industrial visits.

College Choir

The objective of College choir is to promote and nurture musical talent of students. It performs in all the important events of the college like Founder’s Day Celebrations, Christmas Carol and many other high profile events of the campus.

Chapel Service

Chapel service of our college aims the moral and spiritual well being of students. Programmes are organised to enrich students with good ideas, hope and visions, share of personal experiences and interact with learned personalities. Chapel service is held in the morning and during the noon interval on all working days.
