Lincoln has continued to make strides in their product as well as their brand acceptance. With the all new 2011 Lincoln MKX, Lincoln will bring the fun to drive SUV to life with new interior, exterior, and technology features. Lincoln has raised the bar in affordable luxury. The new MKX debuts this summer. Stylish Exterior True to Lincoln, the MKX keeps it’s crossover look with some added artistic flare. The front fenders have an arch that goes over the wheel wells down the beltline giving the MKX an aggressive but classy look. The front grill has the split wing grille conforming to the signature front ends of the Lincoln brand with chrome accents on the grille, bottom grille, taillamps, door handles, and lower door cladding. You can choose from four different wheels, an 18 inch painted alluminum, 18 inch polished aluminum or upgrade to the Elite or Limited Edition packages to a 20 inch chrome clad or polished aluminum wheel. However you dress your Lincoln there is a package for you. Superior Class and Technology The new 2011 MKX has taken class to a whole new level by eliminating traditional knobs and buttons, replacing them with touch sensitive controls. You can literaly slide your finger to raise the fan and volume controls. This new technology is MyLincoln Touch. You have three screens that you can customize to display as much or as little information as you desire. Two screens are located in the instrument panel and one eight inch screen is located in the center stack. Jim Smithbaur, Interior Design Manager says “MyLincoln Touch represents technology that ushers in a new era of how people interact with media and information in their vehicles. The 2011 Lincoln MKX interior had to reflect this tremendous leap forward. For us, that meant an even greater emphasis on what defines Lincoln DNA: luxury, craftmanship, geniune materials and sharper execution.” No doubt Lincoln had their customers in mind when they designed this crossover, with accents in the form of aluminum or wood appliques, they have combined class and technology. Powertrain to Match One of the things Lincoln did with the MKX is give it more “juice”. Lincoln gave the MKX a powerful 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 engine. This motor produces 305 horsepower and 280 lb ft of torque. In addition to the better engine it is mated with a six speed automatic transmission. This will give the MKX a boost in power and fuel economy. The MKX also has Intelligent Oil Life Monitor introduced on the new Ford diesel, it will use actual engine operating condition to calculate the oil change interval. No more guess work. Lincoln has really pulled all the stops on the new MKX from high tech gadgets like HD Radio with iTunes tagging to Smart Charging allowing the battery to be charged or discharged at optimal times instead of having the alternator do all the work. After all this the 2011 Lincoln MKX has your safety concerns at the top of the list. Standard safety features are the post crash alert system, Advancetrac with RSC, Safety Canopy system with roll fold technology and the Personal Safety System. With a price tag starting under forty thousand the Lincoln MKX will contend if not dominate the market.
