During the months of August and September NSS volunteers participated in various flood relief work. As per the request from Kalloppara Grama Panchayath and Health Department volunteers carried out chlorination of wells, cleaning of houses in Ward 6 of the Panchayath. Volunteers also cleaned Mallappally indoor stadium after the flood. An amount of Rs. 63,000/- (Rupees Sixty-three thousand only) was donated to CMDRF. Volunteers also collected a sum of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty thousand only) from the houses in the areas not affected by flood and purchased study materials like notebooks, pens, pencils, instrument boxes, etc. and handed over to the Pachayath for distributing them to floos affect school students in the Panchayath.
